Portland International Airport (PDX) is Oregon’s largest airport. Construction on the current terminals and adjacent light-rail lines were completed on 9/10/01. Because the events of 9/11/01 changed the climate of travel forever, concourses that were designed as public spaces were thereafter restricted to ticketed passengers only. PDX is a ‘green’ facility; solar panels are used for energy and the used oil and grease its restaurants generate is recycled.
